Intellect alone is no match for life’s challenges. We get carried away all too often – even ‘lose our mind’ – in moments of anger, guilt, worry, shame and self-doubt. Why?
Science reveals that in a very real sense, we have two minds – a mind that thinks and one that feels. It’s not just IQ, but EQ or Emotional intelligence that determines how we do in life..
Emotional Intelligence is learning to recognize when and how emotions distort your perception. You can choose your response to life’s challenges, rather than react based on your human tendencies, internal interferences, and biases.

E’motion: The root of the word emotion is a Latin verb meaning “to move away”..
All emotions are impulses to act – to move – either towards something good or away from something dangerous.
We see this early.. Two children get upset – what follows? ‘Be nice to each other”, “go say you’re sorry”, and so on. Years pass.. Challenges get harder – What training is given then?
Fast forward.. Adults, leaders, parents – do we act any differently? Someone challenges me? Disappoints me? Sees things different than me? I move away – that’s what I do, it’s what I know – avoid the pain, shut it down..
EQ gives you tools to respond differently – with empathy, curiosity, compassion – the hallmarks of High EQ that allow leaders, teams, and families to thrive, not just survive under adversity..

When was the last time you were this happy?
It may seem happiness is reaching out for those extraordinary, life-changing events, the stuff our dreams are made of.. “I’ll be happy when I..”
Actually, research in psychology shows that the frequency of positive experiences –everyday moments that may pass by without notice – are a much better predictor of happiness than the intensity of those experiences.
EQ trains a person to notice and savor the things they already have and like, promoting greater resilience and increased positive emotions..

What is Coaching?
We are growing and being sculpted every day. Question is, what are we growing into?
Working with a Coach is finding a safe place to practice life; where you get to train your mind, to be more of the person you want to be, more of the time.
We provide the ingredients and support for change, always following the Golden Rule of Coaching:
“No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or by emotional appeal.” (M. Ferguson)
